Scope of application group meaning

1.1 Division of hazardous areas of explosive gas environments

Different countries and regions divide explosion hazard areas according to their own standards. Our country divides explosive gas environments into Zone O, Zone 1 and Zone 2 based on the frequency and duration of the occurrence of explosive gas mixtures. (Consistent with IEC International Electrotechnical Commission)

Zone 0: An environment where explosive gas mixtures appear continuously or for a long time.

Zone 1: Environment where explosive gas mixtures may occur during normal operation.

Zone 2: An environment in which explosive gas mixtures are unlikely to occur during normal operation or where explosive gas mixtures, if present, exist only for a short period of time.

Zone 0 generally only exists in internal gas spaces such as sealed containers and storage tanks. Zone 1 rarely exists in the actual design process, and most cases belong to zone 2.

1.2 Explosion-proof electrical equipment is divided into two categories:

Category I electrical equipment for underground coal mines

Category II electrical equipment used in places other than mines

1.3 Class II electrical equipment is divided into three categories: IIA, IIB and IIC according to its maximum test safety gap or minimum ignition current ratio suitable for explosive gas mixtures; and it is divided into six groups T1-T6 according to its maximum surface temperature.

1.4 Explosive gas mixtures are grouped according to ignition temperature.
